Something to consider: we see so much stuff like this because it’s easy. Anyone could paint bees like this. Anyone. Try painting a bee that looks like a real bee though and see how far you get. It’s tough! But in the “trying to” one learns and thereby becomes a better artist.
My point? I would rather see a bad painting of a real bee than a good painting of a fake, cartoony, stupid bee.
Art is supposed to imitate Life. Here, we have our stupid, mindless, lowest-common-denominator Life imitating Art.
