Really really really really not that great.
The icing on the cake is the fact that this painting is almost certainly the result of yet another Paint Night soirée (see below): Faugh!!!

The artist’s talent and vision seem to leap off the canvas and force the viewer to engage WITH the canvas instead simply looking at it. The viewer and the thing being viewed become one. This is was True Art is all about.
🤮
Normally I’m not a fan of what this painting seems to be imitating. Once I realized this was probably (?) done by hand, I started liking it. Good job MsGodfrey! 🙂
Nicely done. There’s a lot here and it’s all in the right place, depth/perspective-wise. Kind of a un-Arsty subject but that’s just fine. This is a really good painting, for what it is. I personally like the lofty and highbrow stuff but that’s not a requirement for something to be Art.
Well done my friend. I hope you’re still alive and at it 🙂
Trust me: this is one of the decent ones…
Again with the black and purple! It’s everywhere.
This actually isn’t that bad. It’s uninteresting and yawn-inducing but there’s talent here.
Artist: next time paint something more important, more worthy of your time paint and canvas.
Nothing else needs to be said.
It’s a shame that it’s of such a boring and overdone subject.
I’m beginning to think we have more paintings of Alaskan mountains here than there are actual mountains in Alaska. Whew…
Actually I never left. I’ve been accumulating paintings to install for the past month: I just been lazy and haven’t gotten around to installing them. Now I have 40ish paintings to review all at once. Ugh.
(That last sentence was my review of this one.)
Just kidding. It’s boring and is violating my rule against blue, black and “things in silhouette” i.e three of the seven most overused etceteras in Amateur Art (the others being gray, pink, purple and “left-unpainted white canvas”) but it is reasonably good from a technical standpoint.
So there!
